ABOUT ABOUT

Gather and raise your voice for all the dogs + cats of San Antonio that are abandoned, neglected and are in high-risk of euthanasia at ACS.

SPEAK UP FOR SAN ANTONIO DOGS AND CATS!

Did you know that 80% of the dogs and cats killed at ACS every week are perfectly adoptable and under 3 years old?

If you find that shocking then you're not alone. Most of the residents of San Antonio find that ACS can do a better job at controlling the stray population and ensuring that no animal that enters its doors has to be needlessly killed.

The Director of ACS just announced he is resigning in June 2024. This is probably due to a myriad of reasons including:

1. A third of all fatal dog attacks that occur in Texas, happen in San Antonio.
2. Every week, Animal Care Services dutifully euthanizes hundreds of adoptable dogs and cats.
3. Animal Care Services has a mere 44% on-the-scene response rate to public appeals for assistance.

This makes the upcoming Public Comment Session incredibly important! Make a huge difference in the lives of stray dogs, cats and all the animals at ACS that are at high risk of being euthanized. Let's show them that we don't agree with their current practices by showing up.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

1. Attend the Public Comment Session at 4:30 pm in the Municipal Plaza Building, 114 W. Commerce Street, San Antonio. Bring a friend! The more people in attendence, the better.
2. Show up to be an audience member or participate by registering to speak. It's not as scary as it sounds! You have up to 3 minutes to address the City Council and let them know your opinion and personal experience with strays/ACS. You might think it doesn't matter but it absolutely does! Register up to 15 minutes before here: Register to Speak.
